Role Overview

As Operations Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire flow of goods from user handover to resale readiness. This position requires hands-on engagement with founders, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners to design and optimize operational systems with a focus on AI and partner integration.

Responsibilities

• Manage business performance across the entire item lifecycle including pick-up, shipping, intake, quality assurance, storage, packing, partner coordination, and returns.
• Develop and refine operational models involving human staff, AI agents, partners, and gig workers.
• Lead and mentor the operations team towards excellence.
• Collaborate with founders on roadmap planning, automation strategies, and operational milestones.
• Design scalable system infrastructure involving warehouse layouts, partner integration, storage methods, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Establish and monitor service standards tailored to item journey stage, user segment, category, and item value.
• Implement authenticity verification, fraud detection, and trust assurance mechanisms.
• Utilize data measurement, experimentation, and continuous improvement to enhance operational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Experience in e-commerce, recommerce, quick commerce, retail, or similar consumer sectors with complex product flows and extensive partner networks.
• In-depth knowledge of fulfillment processes, warehousing, returns management, repairs/refurbishment, or operational excellence.
• Proven capability in team building, SLA management, and developing high-performance organizations.
• A user-focused approach with a strong understanding of consumer business models.
• Systems thinking to determine appropriate use of building, partnering, automation, and simplification.
• Familiarity with AI-driven workflows in physical operations.
• Strong skills in partner management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Entrepreneurial attitude, highly hands-on, agile, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, early-stage environments.
• Detail-oriented with high personal standards and passion for quality.
• Residency in Berlin and capability to work onsite at the Berlin Mahlsdorf Office/Warehouse.
• Fluent English required; advanced German proficiency (C1 level) is a significant advantage.
