Role Overview
As an Operations Coordinator, you will oversee all aspects of inventory control, administrative functions, and branch warehouse and delivery operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes at the branch located in Calgary, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of branch inventory and manage non-productive stock effectively.
- Control independent purchases at the branch and complete essential inventory reports such as cycle counts and purchase order statuses.
- Handle branch administrative tasks including managing phone and reception duties, customer and vendor invoicing, credits and returns, updating AS400 customer files, IT system issues, and human resource activities like staffing, training, and payroll.
- Oversee facility upkeep, security concerns, equipment, and machinery maintenance and repairs.
- Manage branch warehouse operations, optimize delivery fleet use, maintain proper stocking and receiving procedures, and ensure accurate picking and fill rates.
- Enforce safety policies to uphold a safe and healthy workplace environment.
- Provide backup support to the Branch Manager when necessary.
Candidate Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business or a related discipline, accompanied by at least three years of relevant experience preferably within wholesale distribution, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of business management principles and operational systems specific to the wholesale distribution sector.
- Effective communicator who engages comfortably with all organizational levels.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting, with a keen eye for detail.
- Analytical thinker and problem solver with excellent interpersonal and teamwork capabilities.
- Proficient in oral and written communication, and skilled in MS Office applications.
- Organized and efficient in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Certified forklift operation or willingness to obtain certification; First Aid, WHMIS, and TDG certifications are advantageous.
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
