Operations Analyst - VC Fund

Role overview

Hudson Gate Partners’ client, a prominent venture capital fund, is looking for a Business Operations Analyst to support the operational side of its business. The position may sit within either the asset management function or the OCIO business. In this role, you will gain exposure to the firm’s investment platform, private investment execution, and fund operations while helping keep day-to-day workflows running smoothly.

You will contribute to the coordination and completion of investment-related processes such as subscriptions, capital calls, investment paperwork, funding support, and ongoing maintenance of investments. The role also includes work on process enhancements, better organization, and building scalable operational systems across the platform.

The team is seeking someone who is highly organized, proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable balancing several priorities in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a solid working knowledge of the firm’s investment platform, operating model, and private investment workflows.
• Support operational tasks connected to venture capital and private investment activity, including subscriptions, capital calls, redemptions, and continuing investment maintenance.
• Coordinate and organize investment documents, onboarding materials, and operational records.
• Maintain trackers, workflow calendars, and internal reporting tools to monitor deadlines and outstanding action items.
• Work with custodians, fund administrators, outside managers, and internal teams to help ensure timely execution of operational processes.
• Assist with funding coordination, wire readiness, and monitoring of cash movement activity.
• Provide support for secondary transactions and other investment-related operational work.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve and simplify operating procedures and internal systems.
• Help document, organize, and refine operational processes and workflow guides.
• Consistently demonstrate professionalism, precision, and strong attention to detail in all interactions.

Experience and qualifications

Applicants should have 2 to 4 years of experience in investment operations, fund administration, venture capital operations, private equity operations, RIA, asset management, family office operations, or another related financial services area. Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills are important, along with the ability to perform well in a demanding professional environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as the role involves regular interaction with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate must be committed to accuracy, quality, and timely completion of work, and should show genuine interest in private investments, venture capital, sustainable investing, and/or asset management operations. The ability to manage multiple deadlines at once while maintaining a high level of detail is essential.

Education and travel

A BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a liberal arts discipline is required. Travel requirements are minimal, at up to 5-10% annually.

Compensation

The role offers a base salary of $110,000 to $120,000 per year, plus bonus and profit sharing.
