Role overview
This full-time inspection position is based in Singapore (Keppel) within Manufacturing Operations. The role reports to the Operations Leader and focuses on carrying out inspection tasks according to defined work instructions.
Core duties
- Carry out visual and dimensional checks, along with area control for parts.
- Confirm that work clearance and router, documentation, and record details are accurate and complete.
- For incoming inspection, verify that the condition of incoming parts is properly captured so the work scope can be determined correctly.
- For final inspection, make sure parts satisfy the required quality and specification standards.
- Stop non-conforming parts from moving on to the next workstation.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers with assessments and audit-related activities when needed.
- Record inspection data and share quality feedback with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers as required.
- Handle scheduled upkeep and housekeeping tasks.
- Support other departments with relevant assignments and take on any additional duties given.
Qualifications and experience
- GCE O-Level or an equivalent qualification, together with 3 years of quality inspection experience; or
- GCE A-Level or an equivalent qualification, together with 2 years of quality inspection experience; or
- NITEC in Mechanical Engineering; or
- Another relevant and recognized technical training or certification, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred profile
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and/or Aircraft Engineering is an advantage.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Working knowledge of defects and surface flaws.
- Ability to work with precision measuring tools.
- Capability to read and understand blueprints.
- Prior quality control experience in repair or manufacturing environments.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications.
- Collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
