OLT Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced OLT Installation Engineer to join our team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience in installation and maintenance of OLT hardware, with strong expertise across telecom hardware and fiber optics network management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation and upkeep of OLT equipment including hardware components.
• Troubleshoot issues related to OLT chassis, line cards, SFP modules, power supplies, and cooling fans.
• Conduct fiber patching, perform OTDR testing, and execute fusion splicing operations.
• Manage rack installations, ensure organized cable management, and maintain DC power systems.
• Carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance activities at points of presence (POP) sites.
• Coordinate hardware replacements and work closely with OEMs or vendors as necessary.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and provide support during breakdown situations.
• Adhere strictly to service level agreements (SLA) to minimize network downtime.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Practical experience with OLT devices from Huawei, Nokia, ZTE, or FiberHome.
• Solid understanding of GPON technology, FTTx architectures, and fiber optic networks.
• Experience in maintaining telecom or Internet Service Provider (ISP) hardware equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities paired with effective communication skills.
• Flexibility to travel within Mumbai and work in rotational shift patterns.
