About the Role

The position is for a Band 7 Non-medical Prescriber to deliver prescribing services within the Neuro Developmental Disorders (NDD) Service, specifically focusing on mental health patients diagnosed with ADHD in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington. This role operates primarily in secondary care environments, collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical prescribing interventions to mental health service users, concentrating on ADHD treatment.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with clinical governance standards related to prescribing and specialist practice areas.
• Cover clinics during planned or unplanned staff absences.
• Engage in clinical audits, research, and quality monitoring activities to support service enhancement.
• Participate in clinical supervision per Trust guidelines and offer supervision to nursing and other staff members.
• Contribute proactively to service development initiatives, including policy formulation and implementation related to the specialized area.
• Provide expert input and innovative solutions within the NDD service to meet client needs effectively.
• Educate and support multidisciplinary professionals to enhance client care through knowledge sharing.
• Manage own workload independently to align with service objectives.
• Review and update clinical protocols and guidelines to ensure evidence-based and effective practices.
• Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to further develop the NDD service and advise on service evolution.

Additional Information

The NDD team is currently expanding services, covering five North Central London Boroughs for Autism, while ADHD services cover Camden and Islington. With increased funding, the service aims to enhance care quality and reduce waiting times.
