About the Role
The Mergers and Acquisitions Manager plays a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and executing strategic growth initiatives for Gulftainer's global portfolio. This position involves crafting detailed business cases, financial models, and commercial documents to support mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, concessions, and other growth-driven projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough market, industry, and competitor research to uncover strategic business opportunities.
- Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships, and concessions.
- Develop financial models, valuations, sensitivity analyses, and investment scenarios to guide decision-making.
- Create comprehensive business cases underpinning strategic choices.
- Perform commercial and financial due diligence during transaction processes.
- Track sector trends and competitors in ports, logistics, maritime, and infrastructure industries.
- Lead the coordination and preparation of EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents, ensuring comprehensive and timely submissions.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, engineering, and commercial teams to gather necessary inputs.
- Ensure proposals are commercially viable and properly structured.
- Maintain and update proposal templates, standards, and supporting materials.
- Build and sustain financial models pertinent to investment evaluations.
- Analyze project viability, expected returns, risks, and commercial assumptions.
- Produce investment memorandums and executive-level presentations.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for business development projects.
- Support special strategic initiatives and projects as assigned by leadership.
- Assist with all stages of transaction execution from initial screening to project completion.
- Manage coordination of internal groups during due diligence and evaluations.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of current opportunities and monitor their progress.
- Prepare reports, visual dashboards, and presentations for management and executive teams.
- Ensure thorough documentation of investment opportunities and bid submissions.
- Adhere to corporate governance, procurement, and approval procedures during project lifecycles.
Experience and Qualifications
- Between 2 to 5 years’ experience in business development, corporate finance, investment analysis, M&A, infrastructure, consulting, or project finance roles.
- Preferred background in ports, logistics, shipping, infrastructure, transportation, or industrial sectors.
- Proven ability preparing financial models and investment evaluations.
- Experience in supporting EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, or large-scale commercial proposals is highly valued.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, engineering, corporate finance, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CFA (Level I or higher), FMVA, or equivalents considered advantageous.

- Expertise in advanced financial modeling and valuation methodologies.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficient in commercial and investment analysis techniques.
- Skilled in developing detailed business cases.
- Experienced in market research and competitive landscape analysis.
- Capable of financial statement analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
