Mechanical Designer - Sheet Metal Fabrication

About the Role

Renuka Infotech is seeking a Sheet Metal Design Engineer proficient in SolidWorks to be based at Yerrappa Industrial Area, Chennanhalli, Bengaluru. This role focuses on creating innovative sheet metal components and assemblies with emphasis on fabrication and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design sheet metal parts using the Sheet Metal module in SolidWorks.
• Prepare comprehensive 2D fabrication drawings including dimensions, tolerances, and Bills of Materials.
• Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies corresponding to sheet metal products.
• Ensure all designs are practical for manufacturing techniques such as laser cutting, bending, and welding.
• Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to refine designs and address issues.
• Modify and improve existing designs informed by manufacturing feedback.
• Maintain meticulous documentation for all drawings and their revisions.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1 to 3 years of solid experience in sheet metal design using SolidWorks.
• Thorough understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes including cutting, bending, and welding.
• Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings effectively.
• Proficient in assembly design and detailing.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.

Additional Details

• Experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry is advantageous.
• Familiarity with coordinating shop floor operations is a plus.
• Immediate joining candidates are preferred.
