Materials Manager

About the Role

The Materials Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring materials are managed efficiently and safely. This role involves coordinating materials flow, optimizing storage, maintaining inventory accuracy, and collaborating with various stakeholders to support operational requirements at IMI Shipyard in Ras Al Khair.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with IMI's policies and safety regulations.
• Plan, supervise, and adjust warehouse team activities to meet schedules.
• Optimize storage space and ensure materials are stored according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Manage material reception, storage, and distribution accurately and promptly.
• Monitor inventory to prevent shortages of critical items.
• Evaluate and report on warehousing efficiency and third-party service provider performance.
• Continuously improve warehouse processes and identify areas for enhancement.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, document retention, and inventory cycle counting.
• Utilize tools and conduct field visits to verify adherence to standards and behaviors.
• Address and resolve material-related challenges within warehouse operations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, material management, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in materials management.
• Proficient in English and Arabic languages.
• Strong multitasking ability with effective project delivery on schedule.
• Analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
• Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Experience overseeing third-party service providers.
