Job description
Role Overview
This position focuses on executing spot market making tasks and managing contract trading operations to maintain market depth and price stability. The role involves order placement, depth replenishment, spread maintenance, and order book structure management, ensuring healthy liquidity and stable market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform spot market making activities including order execution, deepening order book depth, spread control, and maintaining order book integrity. Responsible for the quality of order book depth, spread steadiness, and overall market presentation.
- Conduct hedging operations by managing positions based on inventory and market conditions to maintain risk neutrality. Monitor the relationship between internal and external market prices to timely adjust hedge positions, keeping overall exposure within controllable limits.
- Produce weekly reports on market making and hedging performance with detailed analysis of depth changes, order book structure, and hedge effectiveness, along with actionable optimization recommendations.
- Continuously monitor critical liquidity indicators such as depth structure, order book continuity, and spread rationality. Identify causes of depth deterioration or abnormal structure and propose internal optimization strategies in collaboration with risk control, operations, and strategy teams without external communication.
- Detect and respond to order book risks including unusual trading behaviors like abnormal order consumption, sudden order cancellations, and potential market manipulation signs, taking prompt measures and informing internal teams.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of three years practical experience in spot market making, including order execution, depth replenishment, spread management, and order book maintenance.
- Ability to independently interpret order book data, assess depth risk, structural issues, and price imbalances. Skilled in inventory management and basic hedging techniques, with rapid problem-solving in fast-paced markets.
- Proficient in basic data analysis to support market making activities.
- Fundamental risk control capabilities such as recognizing unusual transaction patterns, sudden order cancellations (fake depth), suspicious trading behaviors (wash trading, order baiting), high-frequency strategy interference (unusual impact costs, frequent order book breaches), and signs of manipulation (price pumping and dumping).
- Familiarity with external market linkages including Binance and OKX, and common arbitrage practices like cross-market and spread arbitrage.
- Experience with market making bots or automated order placement systems is required.
