Manufacturing Excellence Officer

Role overview

This role is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across the plant. The person in this position will coordinate with other plants, adapt proven programs, and implement them effectively within the assigned site.

Job purpose

Lead and manage plant-level manufacturing excellence initiatives and continuous improvement programs, while working with other facilities to bring best practices into the site.

Experience

Relevant experience required: 2 to 6 years.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement activities at the plant, ensuring they support both plant objectives and corporate priorities.
• Roll out corporate excellence programs such as Lean, TPM, TQM, Six Sigma, or similar initiatives, and regularly review implementation gaps at the site.
• Handle critical business projects related to delivery, quality, efficiency, or other plant priorities as assigned.
• Build capability through training and coaching so that manufacturing excellence programs are implemented smoothly.
• Study and adopt proven practices from other plants and ensure successful local deployment.
• Use communication platforms, improvement meetings, and external learning sources effectively to strengthen knowledge sharing and encourage cultural change at the plant.
• Create, improve, and standardize systems and processes.
• Proactively contribute new ideas within the scope of the role.

Desired competencies

The role calls for strong knowledge of manufacturing excellence methods such as 5S, Kaizen, OEE, and TPM, along with a track record of using them to create measurable business impact. The candidate should be able to diagnose and resolve complex issues affecting quality, delivery, and efficiency, and should be comfortable facilitating team workshops such as Kaizen sessions, value stream mapping, process mapping, and data collection exercises. Strong stakeholder influence, clear communication across all levels, and excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and organizational skills are important. Familiarity with quality management systems and core quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, MSA, and control plans is also expected.
