Manager (Media & Strategic Communications Analyst)

Role Overview

In this position, you will track and evaluate media coverage and online conversations across diverse media platforms. Your role involves spotting emerging discussions and issues that could impact MINDEF, SAF, and Singapore's defence from operational, policy, and reputation perspectives.

Key Duties

• Deliver timely updates, insightful analysis, and actionable recommendations.
• Compile both regular and special reports, develop tracking dashboards, and conduct comprehensive analyses.
• Perform risk evaluations on significant matters of concern.
• Assist in strategic communications planning and support decision-making processes.

Challenges

• Recognising and interpreting critical indicators and relevant issues.
• Transforming information into valuable products for MINDEF and SAF leadership.
• Proposing recommendations to facilitate executive-level decisions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Sound knowledge of the media environment.
• Genuine interest in political, defence, and security matters within Singapore and the surrounding region.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Quick thinking and problem-solving capabilities during crisis scenarios.
• Keen analytical aptitude.
• Proficiency in a local language is a plus.
• Experience with social media platforms is advantageous.
• Readiness to partake in rotational responsibilities.
