Manager - Logistics Procurement

Role Overview

The position of Manager - Logistics Procurement involves leading both inbound and outbound logistics operations. This includes analyzing data to optimize freight expenditures and ensuring all logistics requirements are fulfilled while promoting operational and financial excellence. Compliance with internal regulations, laws, and standard operating procedures is a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop logistics capabilities focused on maintaining customer service levels via Customer Service Level (CSL) indexing and assessing transporter performance based on on-time placements.
• Conduct data analysis and gather market intelligence to identify and address logistical challenges.
• Manage freight negotiations across India involving an annual market truck freight spend of approximately 500 crore INR, utilizing both online auctions and offline methods.
• Perform freight market visits and benchmark freight rates, collecting rate information from various freight brokers across different markets and tracking these periodically.
• Monitor freight market seasonality to devise strategic negotiation processes effectively.
• Plan warehouse layouts to maximize space utilization and implement best practices for warehouse operations.
• Provide safety and efficiency training to the warehouse team and actively monitor stock levels.
• Enhance productivity and operational efficiency to support organizational growth.
• Develop and maintain robust processes for managing skews and sustaining system protocols.
• Oversee depot and CFA operations, dispatch planning, transportation management, dedicated fleet management, and system capabilities.
• Define and standardize daily routines, ensuring compliance with daily dispatch tracking across India.
• Identify individual skill gaps within the function and deliver training to address these areas.
• Apply multimodal transportation knowledge to logistics management.
• Manage financial aspects including preparing and handling annual freight budgets and mid-term and year-to-date gap analysis.
