Job description
Introduction
Hiring processes today often fail to clearly define the criteria for success, relying instead on superficial indicators like credentials or interview impressions, causing prolonged recruitment cycles and high turnover rates. At our company, we aim to transform this approach by focusing on precise, outcome-based measures of excellence and designing recruitment workflows as systematic, iterative products that prioritize performance over procedure.
Role Overview
This position is distinct from traditional HR roles; it does not involve scheduling interviews or assessing cultural fit. Instead, an AI system manages candidate sourcing and initial screening, leaving the critical evaluation and pipeline management to this role. The Management Consultant will handle multiple active recruitment pipelines using Salesforce, ensure alignment between hiring managers' true needs and sourcing, and lead candidates through to finalized offers. Success is judged by closing at least 90% of assigned pipelines on schedule each quarter and maintaining transparent communication with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of active job requisitions from initial intake through offer acceptance, including negotiation and candidate engagement before starting.
- Critically evaluate and refine hiring manager requests for roles before candidate sourcing begins, highlighting any inconsistencies or timing issues.
- Create and update job descriptions, role specifications, and scored assessments from scratch if necessary to drive recruitment pipelines.
- Regularly provide progress updates to stakeholders and escalate complex situations to senior leadership with clear information requiring no further explanation.
- Develop and implement lightweight AI tools using platforms like Claude and proprietary internal protocols (MCP) to solve recurrent tasks, subsequently sharing these tools with the team.
Responsibilities Not Included
- Manually sourcing candidates or reviewing resumes—these functions are automated via AI systems.
- Handling the most complex or politically sensitive searches independently, which are reserved for more senior consultants.
- Managing scheduling or logistics for requisitions owned by others; this role is accountable for outcomes rather than coordination.
- Being evaluated by activity counts such as interviews scheduled or calls logged; emphasis is on quality hires delivered on time.
- Uncertainty over responsibility boundaries; this role operates within clearly defined limits.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or related hiring operations.
- Proven ownership of an entire hiring pipeline from intake to signed offer; experience supporting pipelines is insufficient.
- Frequent, daily usage of AI assistants (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) with a clear understanding of practical applications.
- Familiarity with US hiring compliance basics, including prohibited interview questions, equal employment opportunity, and at-will employment principles.
- Experience in drafting regular communications and updates for stakeholders and candidates.
- Availability to work at least 4 hours overlapping with US Eastern Time business hours, supporting a fully remote, global work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar customer relationship management (CRM) or applicant tracking system (ATS) as a primary data source.
- An understanding of recruiting specifically within software and technology sectors.
- Experience adopting assessment-based hiring techniques, favoring work samples over resume evaluation.
- Authorship of reliable assessment rubrics applied successfully by others.
- Background in recruiting or talent operations (RecOps).
About the Employer
Our company has led remote work innovation since 2014, focusing on full-time, long-term remote positions rather than short gigs or freelancing. We strive to ensure fair hiring by objectively assessing candidates' abilities, encouraging diversity in hiring regardless of geographic location, and offering standardized, competitive pay.
Contract Details
This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week with a competitive hourly pay rate of $50, amounting to approximately $100,000 annually based on 50 working weeks. Employment is via independent contractor agreement with weekly payment cycles. Immediate availability is expected.
