About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance and Trades Supervisor to join our team at a major processing facility. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and provide direct leadership over a skilled group of tradespeople and contractors. Your primary focus will be managing both preventative and reactive maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability, operational efficiency, and a high standard of safety performance. This role is varied and dynamic, requiring close collaboration with production and operational teams to drive continuous improvement, minimize downtime, and maintain essential plant and equipment functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee maintenance trades personnel and contractors.
- Plan and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
- Manage maintenance priorities and allocate resources appropriately across the site.
- Champion health and safety leadership in a high-risk environment.
- Support initiatives aimed at enhancing plant reliability and continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop team capabilities and performance.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with operational teams.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a recognised trade qualification (such as Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Refrigeration, or Fitting & Turning).
- Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing, processing, industrial, or heavy industry settings.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced in managing contractors and maintenance in complex operational environments.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
- Effective communicator with strong relationship-building abilities.
- Collaborative leader able to inspire and support the team.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Possesses current and unrestricted work rights in New Zealand.
- Willing and able to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol, and background checks.
