It operates through an extensive network of agents and branches serving both domestic and international clients.
Role Overview
This is a full-time career opportunity located in Kolkata with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site activities and remote work options. The primary responsibility is to promote LIC’s insurance products, understand customer financial protection requirements, and advise appropriate policies. The role involves client prospecting, providing comprehensive product information, guiding customers through application and policy processes, and maintaining lasting client relationships to support renewals and upselling.
Additional duties include liaising with LIC branches, attending training and performance review meetings, and staying informed on the latest product developments, regulations, and market trends. Agents are expected to work ethically, achieve sales and service targets, and embody LIC’s values in their professional conduct.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proficiency in insurance sales and understanding of life and health insurance products.
- Experience in insurance brokerage or advisory roles to effectively guide customers on policy choices.
- Basic finance knowledge to evaluate clients’ savings, investments, and protection needs.
- Strong customer service capabilities to assist clients with onboarding, policy servicing, and claims queries.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and ensure long-term client engagement.
- Self-driven, goal-oriented with ability to operate independently and manage time within a hybrid work environment.
- At least higher secondary or bachelor’s degree qualification and eligibility to acquire necessary regulatory certifications as per IRDAI standards.
- Familiarity with Kolkata’s local markets and readiness to travel as required; prior field sales experience is advantageous.
