Job Overview
The Learning & Development Lead plays a pivotal role by collaborating closely with business leaders and subject experts to assess current and future workforce capabilities. This position designs and implements strategic learning programs that enhance essential skills, knowledge, and behaviors to meet the organisation’s objectives.
This role leads the creation, delivery, procurement, and evaluation of various learning initiatives, ensuring alignment with workforce demands, quality standards, and organisational priorities. By leveraging evidence-based strategies and continuous stakeholder interaction, the postholder advances workforce capability and enhances the effectiveness of employee development.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to determine and prioritise workforce skills and knowledge gaps aligned with organisational strategies and emerging trends.
- Design, develop, and iteratively improve comprehensive learning solutions using diverse delivery methods such as classroom, virtual, blended, self-directed, and on-the-job training.
- Engage with internal experts and external providers to commission and execute top-quality learning programs and resources tailored to organisational needs.
- Create, sustain, and periodically reassess learning pathways, skills frameworks, and capability-building initiatives that support clear career progression and professional growth.
Requirements
- A third-level qualification at NFQ Level 8 or equivalent in a related field, or a comparable blend of relevant experience and training.
- Possession of an MCIPD qualification is desirable.
- At least five years of relevant experience in Learning and Development or Organisational Development roles.
