Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Leading Hand to join our Drainage team in Rolleston, Canterbury. This role involves overseeing a range of drainage projects, ensuring they progress efficiently and meet production targets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various drainage tasks, be capable of interpreting plans, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities to guide and mentor team members while upholding high standards of workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise drainage projects from start to finish.
- Read and interpret drainage plans accurately to ensure project adherence.
- Lead and motivate team members, supporting their development and performance.
- Maintain quality and safety standards on all worksites.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within the drainage or similar industry.
- Expertise in deep drainage systems, trench excavation with shields, pipelaying, and dewatering operations.
- Preferably a Christchurch City Council (CCC) Authorized and New Zealand Registered professional.
- Possession of a National Certificate in Water or Drainage is advantageous.
- Must hold Water Treatment and Reticulation (WTR) endorsements, which are essential.
- Site Traffic Management Supervisor (STMS) certification is preferred.
- Effective communication skills and the capability to drive team productivity.
- Physically fit, self-driven, and committed to safety protocols.
