Key responsibilities

• Process hotel linens, towels, staff uniforms, and guest laundry by sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and packing items in line with hotel standards.
• Use and look after laundry tools and machines such as washers, dryers, steam irons, and pressing equipment.
• Check cleaned items for stains, damage, tears, or general wear, and flag anything that needs repair or replacement.
• Manage guest laundry carefully, maintaining accuracy, privacy, and prompt delivery.
• Apply the correct detergents, chemicals, and fabric treatments according to product instructions and hotel procedures.
• Keep the laundry area, equipment, and work surfaces clean and orderly throughout the shift.
• Track laundry supplies and report when detergents, chemicals, or other consumables are running low.
• Store and issue clean linens and uniforms properly to the right departments.
• Follow health, safety, and infection-control practices when dealing with soiled laundry.
• Promptly report faults or maintenance concerns with laundry equipment.
• Assist with stock counts for linens, towels, and uniforms when needed.
• Work with the housekeeping team to ensure linens are available for daily hotel operations.
• Observe hotel policies, procedures, and quality expectations at all times.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Laundry Supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or an equivalent qualification.
• Prior work in laundry, housekeeping, or a related role in a hotel, hospitality setting, or commercial laundry operation is beneficial.
• Understanding of laundry methods, fabric handling, stain treatment, and garment care.
• Ability to operate laundry machines safely and work with cleaning chemicals correctly.
• Strong eye for detail and a consistent focus on quality.
• Well-developed organizational and time-management abilities.
• Comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
• Physically able to stand for long periods, carry laundry loads, and repeat tasks throughout the day.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and able to handle guest belongings professionally.
• Available to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Good communication skills and a service-oriented attitude.
