About the Role
BEC Arabia invites applications for the position of Land Surveyor Assistant in Riyadh, playing a crucial supporting role in the construction team's efforts across the Kingdom, especially on landmark developments aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. Job Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to senior surveyors in performing field surveys, including topographical, boundary, and layout measurements for construction.
- Handle, operate, and upkeep surveying instruments like total stations, GPS devices, and leveling equipment.
- Gather precise field measurements and document data for use in project planning and implementation.
- Contribute to the creation of survey reports, drawings, and necessary documentation while complying with project and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all surveying work adheres strictly to the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and other mandatory standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and construction personnel to confirm accuracy of site measurements and placements.
- Track and report survey progress, noting and reporting any inconsistencies or challenges encountered.
- Assist with the calibration and troubleshooting of surveying tools to maintain optimal operational conditions.
- Keep thorough, organized records of all survey data, field notes, and related project materials.
- Observe all safety guidelines rigorously, promoting a culture prioritizing site safety.
- Engage in ongoing training to remain informed on the latest surveying technologies and methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least two years’ experience in land surveying or a comparable position within the construction sector.
- Skilled in utilizing surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS technologies, and leveling devices.
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD or other relevant drafting or mapping software.
- Understanding of Saudi Building Code (SBC) requirements and related regulatory frameworks.
- Strong detail orientation and ability to execute tasks accurately under supervision.
- Physically capable of working outdoors and on construction sites.
- Possession of valid Saudi residency (Iqama) and adherence to the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Surveying or Geomatics from an accredited institution.
- Experience with major infrastructure or large-scale projects within GCC countries.
- Knowledge of GIS software and advanced surveying instruments.
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and integration of its processes with survey data.
- Basic awareness of LEED or other green building certification criteria.
Working Conditions
- This position is primarily field-based, requiring work on active construction sites around Riyadh and adjacent areas.
- Exposure to Saudi Arabia’s outdoor climate and weather variations is expected.
- Strict mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all site activities.
- Standard working hours apply, though occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary according to project demands.
