Role overview
This opportunity is for a junior social media manager based in Nottingham to help run the founder’s everyday content workflow. The position sits within a fast-growing media and technology group and involves close collaboration with the founder and the wider social content team. The role includes capturing content on location, helping keep publishing organised, engaging with the audience, and producing straightforward design assets when required.
About the business
The hiring team is building a new media and technology company around a founder who previously created and scaled a software business from scratch to more than £50 million in total revenue. That company grew through a mix of content, paid media investment and community-building before being sold in 2024 for an eight-figure amount. Since then, the founder has focused on developing a personal brand and a wider set of businesses, including a creator-focused SaaS platform, a co-working and creator accelerator community, a YouTube and podcast content operation, an upcoming book, and online courses. The business is still at an early stage, but it already has a large and highly engaged audience and ambitious plans for further growth.
What you will do
- Work alongside the founder in person to capture social-first content.
- Help record behind-the-scenes moments and day-to-day filming.
- Arrange and queue content for publishing across social channels.
- Assist with community management on Instagram and TikTok.
- Create basic graphics, templates and other simple design materials when needed.
- Support the wider senior social media team with ongoing content work.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal person is genuinely enthusiastic about social media, comfortable creating content on a phone, and able to spot what performs well online. Strong organisation, reliability and a quick pace are important, along with a good visual eye and some design taste. You should be open to direction, eager to learn, and based in Nottingham with flexibility to travel to London or other locations when required.
Required experience and tools
- Strong interest in social media content creation and online trends.
- Confidence filming content using a smartphone.
- Good judgement for content quality, trends and audience appeal.
- Organised, dependable and quick to move from task to task.
- Practical design ability and a strong sense of visual style.
- Openness to coaching and the ability to follow guidance well.
Bonus experience
- Familiarity with Canva, Figma, CapCut or Adobe software.
- Previous experience scheduling social posts or moderating online communities.
