About the Role

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking passionate Junior Electrical Designers to join a rapidly growing team specializing in mission-critical datacenter projects, a sector valued at over $17 billion. Based in Mumbai, this role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, construction experts, and project managers to deliver state-of-the-art building designs.

Key Responsibilities

Create 3D models and 2D drawings for various electrical systems in industrial facilities, including single line power system diagrams, electrical equipment layouts, hazardous area classification drawings, interconnection and hook-up diagrams, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.
Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to ensure a clash-free system design.
Manage assigned work scope within scheduled timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
Support experienced engineers in preparing, reviewing, and coordinating deliverables related to electrical design.
Train new team members on engineering tools and electrical design practices.
Demonstrate consistent initiative, teamwork, and a willingness to take on increasing project and organizational responsibilities.
Apply strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities along with clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Qualifications and Skills

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI/NCTVT Electrical certification with under 5 years of relevant experience.
Solid understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles and technical theories.
Familiarity with designing and analyzing basic electrical systems adhering to engineering standards.
Knowledge of activities in related disciplines and the importance of inter-disciplinary coordination on projects.
Hands-on experience with 3D and 2D electrical design tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, REVIT, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D, and MicroStation.
Proficiency in lighting design software like Dialux or Visual.
Basic skills in using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneNote.

Additional Information

The position requires interaction with lead engineers and design teams located locally in Mumbai and internationally in the United States. The job entails no travel and is a full-time onsite opportunity. The job posting will remain open for a minimum of 72 hours and remains open until the position is filled.
