Role Overview
The Capital Market IT (CMI) department is looking for a Junior DevOps Platform Engineer to help build, automate, and support infrastructure and deployment capabilities. This role involves partnering with development teams to make releases smoother, systems more stable, and operations more efficient. You will contribute to ongoing improvements that keep platforms secure, dependable, and high performing.
CMI supports technology used in capital markets, including trading, market and counterparty risk, analytics, regulatory controls, and other financial-market functions. It also increasingly uses API-based systems, cloud services, and AI-enabled technologies to improve delivery and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, design, and build software or specialized utility tools where needed.
- Create and support automation for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment activities.
- Work with development teams to build CI/CD pipelines and streamline release processes.
- Track, diagnose, and resolve issues affecting infrastructure and application performance.
- Apply security-focused practices and help maintain compliance with relevant standards.
- Keep pace with evolving DevOps tools, methods, and industry developments.
- Help strengthen DevOps practices, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in related work is expected.
- Strong understanding of UNIX environments and database systems such as SQL, Oracle, Sybase, and Big Data platforms.
- Hands-on exposure to automation frameworks and supporting libraries.
- Working knowledge of scripting in Python, Shell, and PowerShell.
- Practical familiarity with DevOps tools and platforms including GitLab, Ansible, Jenkins, Maven, Elastic Search, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Control-M, Kafka, Confluence, Jira, and MQ Series.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS cloud services and platforms.
- Awareness of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and willingness to learn how to use them effectively.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML ideas, plus interest in prompt engineering and responsible AI practices.
- Ability to review AI-generated code and outputs carefully with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Interest in using AI tools to improve development workflows and problem-solving.
- Experience supporting capital market applications and trading systems, ideally in Market Risk or Front Office environments.
- Good grasp of financial products such as Treasury, FX, Credit, IRD, Bonds, RSF, and similar instruments.
- Nice-to-have exposure to banking applications and trading systems.
- Nice-to-have knowledge of object-oriented languages such as Java or .NET.
- Nice-to-have familiarity with Domain-Driven Design and Spring Boot microservices.
