Junior Data Analyst

About the Role

C.Mendes-Engenharia, Lda is looking to hire an Entry-Level Junior Data Analyst dedicated to supporting data collection, reporting, and business intelligence tasks. This role suits recent graduates or early-career professionals passionate about working with data, identifying meaningful patterns, and delivering insights to aid business decisions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Gather, clean, verify, and organize data from various sources to maintain accuracy and uniformity.
• Examine datasets to detect trends, patterns, and actionable insights useful for the business.
• Create regular reports, dashboards, and visual data presentations for stakeholders and management.
• Assist in developing and updating business intelligence reports and key performance metrics.
• Promote data-driven decision-making by providing thorough analytical insights and suggestions.
• Track and monitor KPIs to gauge business performance effectively.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses supporting operational, financial, marketing, and strategic goals.
• Work collaboratively with diverse teams to comprehend reporting needs and business objectives.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with governance policies.
• Help automate report generation and improve data collection and reporting workflows.
• Document data sources, analytical methodologies, and reporting practices comprehensively.
• Keep abreast of latest data analytics tools, methodologies, and industry trends.

Key Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of data analysis, statistics, and reporting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data handling.
• Preferred familiarity with SQL for querying and extracting data.
• Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or equivalent is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of programming or analytics languages like Python or R is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a dedication to data accuracy.
• Effective communication skills to clearly present analysis and findings.
• Capability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Preferred educational background includes a bachelor's degree or diploma in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines.
