Job description
Overview
The role involves managing the engagement of resident jobseekers and coordinating the onboarding process of community employers into the Jobs Nearby @ CDC scheme. This initiative aims to connect residents with local employment opportunities through workforce development and tailored job matching programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage resident jobseekers and facilitate the onboarding of community employers across CDCs and Community Centres.
- Offer personalised support to jobseekers by understanding their challenges and guiding them step-by-step through their job search.
- Work closely with employers—including SMEs, local businesses, and community organizations—and vendors to help create jobseeker profiles, manage job listings, and optimize use of job portals.
- Assist jobseekers in setting up digital profiles, uploading necessary documents, and navigating online platforms to apply for roles.
- Organize connections between jobseekers and employers via in-person or virtual means, including facilitation of on-the-spot interviews.
- Monitor the progress and outcomes for jobseekers, performing follow-ups and reviewing service processes to ensure continuous improvement for all parties.
- Expand and sustain employer networks to enhance engagement and opportunities.
- Plan and participate in community events such as job fairs, learning festivals, and outreach initiatives to link jobseekers with suitable employers.
- Collect, track, and report data on registrations, sign-ups, and success stories to monitor effectiveness.
- Provide operational guidance to new Job Ambassadors during their onboarding to support smooth daily operations.
Additional Duties
Perform other miscellaneous duties as required that fall outside the scope of main responsibilities.
Candidate Profile
- Possess knowledge or experience in outreach, career and skills advisory, community engagement, human resources, recruitment, or workforce development.
- Proficiency in a second language such as Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, or relevant dialects to effectively communicate with a diverse community.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage enquiries from employers and jobseekers, with a basic understanding of job market trends and workforce policies.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently across multiple community locations, with willingness to travel frequently within the district.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Ability to conduct community outreach and outdoor engagement activities.
- Resourceful, proactive, and persuasive personality with a commitment to community service.
