Janitor - Full and Part Time

Bon Appétit Management Company is currently seeking to fill janitor positions available both full-time and part-time at Whitman College, located at 114 Otis Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362. Applicants are invited to apply online exclusively.

Work Schedule

Job Role and Duties

The janitor position involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of assigned facilities by conducting heavy cleaning. Responsibilities include trash removal in compliance with infection control plans, dusting and damp mopping floors, relocating furniture and equipment as necessary for thorough cleaning and returning them to proper locations. The role also demands cleaning all surfaces using designated materials and following an eight-step cleaning procedure, washing walls, windows, furniture, and baseboards to ensure a sanitary environment for staff, visitors, and patients. Proactive identification of areas needing attention and completing assigned tasks from supervisors are essential. Floor care such as stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, and carpet shampooing is also part of the duties. Overall, professionalism and teamwork are expected throughout the workday. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications

Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not explicitly required.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range is between $17.13 and $19.50 per hour.
