Role Overview

The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for the upkeep, management, and troubleshooting of all IT systems and infrastructure within the company. This role demands skills in hardware installation, software configuration, network administration, and security system management to ensure business continuity. Collaborating effectively within the team is a critical aspect of this job.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware to ensure optimal operation.
• Set up and support access control and surveillance systems to maintain facility security.
• Maintain data safety by regularly performing updates, backups, and managing access permissions.
• Administer and monitor operating systems, applications, and IT infrastructure for smooth functionality.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues faced by users promptly.
• Carry out tasks designated by the supervisor efficiently and reliably.
• Convey daily progress, system updates, and changes through detailed reporting.
• Execute testing processes adhering to company-defined procedures and standards.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational capabilities with close attention to detail.
• Effective time management skills with evidence of meeting deadlines consistently.
• Powerful analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
• Capability to prioritize and delegate tasks or tickets appropriately to optimize workflow.
• Ability to perform under pressure in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Technical Expertise

• Proficient with operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux.
• Experienced in managing Active Directory environments.
• Knowledgeable about networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Skilled in fiber optic splicing, terminating, and testing techniques.
• Competent in handling and installing SFP/SFP+ transceivers for fiber and copper connectivity.
• Familiar with structured cabling including LAN, fiber optics, patch panels, and server racks setup.
• Experienced in security practices like endpoint protection, access controls, and patch management.
• Capable of scripting and automation tasks using PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
