IT Business Engineer (m/w/d) for Cologne/Kiel with Remote Work Option

About the Role

We seek a knowledgeable IT Business Engineer to support the redevelopment of a key marketing platform called Incentive Assignments (IA). This platform assists marketing teams in planning, managing, and monitoring campaigns such as app coupons. A new solution will replace the existing external web interface, enabling diverse marketing workflows alongside live monitoring and dashboard capabilities.

Key Details

• Start Date: September 1, 2026, or later
• Duration: 18 months
• Workload: Full-time, 38.5 hours per week
• Location: Cologne or Kiel with 3 days onsite per week
• Contract Type: Employee leasing

Main Responsibilities

• Gathering and coordinating requirements with stakeholders
• Serving as a liaison between business units, external partners, and development teams
• Creating user stories, use cases, process models, and technical concept documents
• Performing SQL-based data analyses
• Managing testing phases including functional, integration, and regression tests
• Supporting rollout and pilot phases
• Investigating complex issues within third-level support
• Facilitating workshops and assisting the Product Owner
• Collaborating within an agile product team using Kanban methodology

Candidate Requirements

• Senior professional with minimum 3 years' experience in agile software development teams
• Background as Business Engineer, Business Analyst, or similar roles
• Proficiency in requirements engineering, process modeling (BPMN/UML), and SQL
• Experience with Jira and Confluence tools
• Strong communication and facilitation skills
• Self-driven with experience managing subprojects
• Excellent German and good English language skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with asynchronous architectures
• Test automation experience
• Jira administration knowledge
• IREB CPRE certification
• Design thinking and user-centered software development expertise
• Insights into retail or marketing domains
