About the Role
A partner company based in Canada is seeking an Internal Events Manager to lead and transform internal event initiatives within a remote-first organization. This role focuses on creating meaningful employee experiences and reinforcing workplace culture by developing strategic internal event programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic framework for internal events including planning, design, and evaluation of both virtual and in-person experiences.
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their goals and convert these into engaging event formats, agendas, and strategies.
- Create scalable event models, governance frameworks, standards, and methodologies to enhance event consistency and quality.
- Define best practices for various company events such as leadership meetings, onboarding sessions, training programs, departmental offsites, and employee gatherings.
- Establish systematic processes to improve planning efficiency, budget control, participant engagement, and smooth operations.
- Offer expert advice on event architecture, facilitation methods, stakeholder coordination, and overall experience design.
- Continuously seek new and innovative formats, industry trends, and alternatives to enrich employee interactions.
- Track and analyze event-related performance metrics including satisfaction, effectiveness, budget adherence, and impact on the organization.
- Oversee internal events portfolio to manage priorities, resources, timelines, and strategic initiatives visibly.
- Coordinate closely with logistical and operational teams to ensure flawless execution with clear ownership designation.
- Lead and mentor a team of Event Leads, focusing on setting priorities, coaching, and cultivating a high-functioning group.
- Support broader organizational goals by engaging in cross-team collaboration and employee experience programs.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in event management, experience design, consulting, hospitality, organizational development, or related fields.
- At least 2 years managing teams, with a demonstrated ability to develop and inspire high-performing professionals.
- Proven expertise in designing and executing complex events, leadership assemblies, employee engagement programs, or large organizational functions.
- Experience in building frameworks, operating models, processes, or programs from scratch.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and consulting proficiency with influence over senior leadership decisions.
- Ability to align business objectives with engaging, purposeful, and measurable employee experiences.
- Strong project management skills, adept at juggling multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Experience balancing employee experience goals with operational and budgetary constraints.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including effective presentation abilities.
- Capacity to function in fast-evolving, ambiguous environments while structuring necessary processes.
- Preference for candidates with remote-first, distributed, or fast-growth company experience.
