Information Security Analyst

Role overview

Influence Charity is looking to urgently bring on an Information Security Analyst to help improve the organization’s security posture, strengthen compliance, and reduce exposure to cyber and data protection risks. The position centers on governance, regulatory adherence, technical assessments, and practical risk reduction.

Security compliance and governance

• Create, roll out, and keep updated security policies and procedures that meet NDPR, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS expectations.
• Carry out scheduled compliance checks and reviews to confirm ongoing alignment with the required standards and regulations.
• Work with internal and external auditors during compliance exercises and help drive the implementation of recommended improvements.

Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing

• Plan and perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests across networks, systems, and applications.
• Review results, record vulnerabilities, and coordinate with the relevant teams to close identified gaps.
• Monitor emerging security threats and suggest suitable protective measures.

Risk management and awareness

• Identify security risks across the IT environment and evaluate their potential impact.
• Design and apply mitigation plans, then monitor how effective they are over time.
• Keep a risk register up to date and share routine reports with senior leadership.
• Deliver security awareness sessions to help build a stronger security-minded culture.
• Advise the client on secure computing practices and data protection best practices.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Law, Information Security, Data Protection, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, PCI DSS Implementer, or a comparable credential are preferred.
• Two to three years of experience in data protection, information security, or compliance work.
• Solid understanding of local and international data protection laws and compliance frameworks.
• Practical experience with audits and risk assessments tied to privacy, protection, and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication skills for training, advisory, and stakeholder engagement.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

Location

The role is based in Lagos and operates on a mostly remote model, with about 90% remote work and 10% on client site.
