ജോലി വിവരണം
Role overview
This position calls for a seasoned, target-oriented Hydraulics Operations Manager to direct hydraulic operations across Qatar. The role combines workshop leadership, field service oversight, project delivery, stock control, customer management, team development, and performance monitoring, with accountability for efficiency, profitability, and adherence to quality and safety requirements.
The ideal professional should bring deep hands-on knowledge of hydraulic systems, strong people leadership, and substantial experience running service and repair operations in industrial, oil & gas, marine, construction, and manufacturing environments.
Core responsibilities
The manager will oversee daily workshop and field service activity, ensure hydraulic repair, maintenance, overhaul, and installation work is completed on schedule, and create operational plans aligned to business goals and client expectations. The role also requires tracking productivity, service quality, and operational efficiency, while introducing improvements that lower costs and strengthen performance.
Workshop responsibilities include supervising repair work on hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and power units, maintaining quality controls throughout every stage of service, coordinating manpower and schedules, monitoring workshop loading and turnaround times, and ensuring repaired equipment is tested and commissioned correctly.
Project duties include managing hydraulic assignments from start to finish, working closely with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, and subcontractors, and ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification. The position also involves assessing project risks and taking corrective measures when needed.
Team leadership is a major part of the job: the manager must guide workshop supervisors, service engineers, technicians, and support staff; set performance goals; review results regularly; identify training needs; and build a culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Customer management responsibilities include maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, resolving service issues quickly, supporting the sales team with technical input and operational planning, and joining customer meetings and technical discussions as needed.
The role also covers inventory and asset management, including spare parts, tools, equipment, and workshop assets. The manager must keep stock at the right levels, reduce unnecessary inventory cost, coordinate procurement of critical items, and monitor asset use and maintenance schedules.
Financial responsibilities include preparing and managing operating budgets, monitoring profit performance and cost control, reviewing service contracts and project expenses, and identifying opportunities to improve revenue and reduce waste.
Health, safety, and quality compliance are essential. The incumbent must ensure all work aligns with Qatar regulations, company procedures, and industry standards, promote a strong safety mindset, conduct audits and risk assessments, lead toolbox talks, and support ISO and quality-management compliance where relevant.
The position also requires regular reporting: monthly operational reports, KPI dashboards, data analysis, improvement actions, and updates to senior leadership on performance, risks, and business opportunities.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required. Additional qualifications in hydraulic systems, fluid power, project management, or operations management will be considered an advantage.
The ideal candidate should have 10 to 15 years of experience in hydraulic systems, service operations, or industrial maintenance, including at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity. Prior responsibility for hydraulic workshop and field service operations is important, and experience in Qatar or the wider GCC market is strongly preferred.
Technical knowledge expected
Strong familiarity is needed with hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, servo and proportional valves, hydraulic power units, filtration systems, accumulators, hydraulic hoses and fittings, industrial and mobile hydraulic applications, troubleshooting and diagnostics, as well as condition monitoring and preventive maintenance.
Skills and competencies
The role calls for confident leadership, sound workforce management, strong planning and organization, project and resource coordination, commercial and financial awareness, problem-solving ability, clear communication, and effective stakeholder handling. Working knowledge of ERP systems, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office is also required.
Preferred criteria
A valid Qatar driving licence is preferred. Experience with international hydraulic brands and OEMs, familiarity with oil & gas, marine, construction, power, and industrial sectors, knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and HSE systems, and Arabic language ability will all be considered beneficial.
Performance measures
Success in the role will be measured through workshop productivity and utilization, service turnaround time, project delivery performance, customer satisfaction and retention, profitability, inventory accuracy and stock optimization, safety and compliance outcomes, employee productivity and retention, and budget control.
Compensation and benefits
The package includes a competitive salary, annual performance bonus, company vehicle and fuel support, medical insurance, annual air ticket and leave benefits, professional development and training opportunities, and end-of-service benefits in line with Qatar Labour Law.
