Position Overview
Eirdata is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their growing team on a significant multinational site in Cork. This role focuses on mechanical maintenance and repair of HVAC systems within a pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environment, adhering to GMP protocols and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine upkeep on air handling units, exhaust fans, and other HVAC apparatus.
- Replace fans, motors, bearings, pulleys, and belts, ensuring proper alignment and tensioning.
- Conduct laser alignment procedures as needed.
- Inspect and change HVAC filters regularly.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and replace valves.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in HVAC equipment, including temperature and fan controls.
- Troubleshoot fume hoods and biological safety cabinets.
- Oversee smoke alarm isolations and reinstatements.
- Support cleanroom validation testing and air balancing activities.
- Monitor Building Management System HVAC alarms and manage responses.
- Administer Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for HVAC and utility loops.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of National Craft Level 6 Trade Qualification.
- Practical understanding of common HVAC systems and equipment such as pumps, fans, motors, and valves.
- Experience with LOTO safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC schematics, P&IDs, and layouts.
- Previous work experience within an active manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency with HVAC, utilities, mechanical & electrical, and process systems.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Competency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong communication capabilities.
- Valid driving license and possession of own transport are essential.
