Role Overview
The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the COO and oversees the management and delivery of HR services across the bank. This role encompasses several key areas including talent management, compensation and benefits, employee and labour relations, workplace accommodations, HR systems, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support recruitment by posting job ads, screening candidates, arranging interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Manage orientation and onboarding processes for newly hired employees.
- Act as a resource for employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues professionally and promptly.
- Lead investigations into employee complaints or misconduct when needed.
- Maintain and update accurate employee records, including personnel files and HRIS data.
- Contribute to the design and execution of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Analyze HR data and prepare reports for strategic planning purposes.
- Organize training initiatives to improve employee skills, including tracking participation and assessing effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal employment regulations and update policies accordingly.
- Administer semi-monthly payroll processing using HRIS and ADP systems.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline is required.
- Minimum six years of professional experience in HR, particularly in administration and employee relations roles.
- Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, best practices, and related legal requirements.
- Strong leadership capabilities with excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude in conflict resolution and managing sensitive personnel matters.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or postgraduate qualifications in HR are advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of Canadian employment legislation is essential.
Additional Information
This position is full-time and based onsite in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The estimated salary range spans CAD $65,000 to CAD $120,000 annually, dependent on experience.
