Role Overview
CORMAC is looking for a flexible and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support core human resources operations across the employee journey. The position spans recruiting support, onboarding, performance management, compliance, and employee relations. Although the role is fully remote, it requires strong awareness of regional HR practices and cross-border compliance, along with occasional local coordination. For this reason, candidates must live in the DMV region.
Employee Lifecycle and Engagement
- Guide new hires through a smooth onboarding process and manage structured offboarding activities for employees who exit.
- Act as a reliable first point of contact for employee questions, help address concerns, and support managers with conflict resolution and performance improvement plans.
- Assist with annual performance reviews and contribute to learning and development efforts.
HR Operations and Administration
- Keep employee files accurate and up to date, process personnel and payroll-related changes, and produce HR reports and workforce insights using HRIS tools.
- Support benefits administration, leave programs such as FMLA and short-term disability, and open enrollment activities.
- Help ensure HR practices remain compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Provide basic support for the Learning Management System, including assigning required onboarding and compliance training to new hires.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must currently reside in the DMV area; applications from outside this region will not be considered.
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- At least 4 to 6 years of progressive HR experience in roles such as HR Generalist or Senior HR Coordinator is needed.
- Hands-on experience with ADP, ideally ADP Workforce Now, or another major HRIS platform is required for managing workforce data.
- Background in IT software consulting, professional services, or federal government contracting is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with distributed teams in a remote setting is required.
- Applicants must be a US citizen or Green Card holder.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Learning Management Systems, either as a user or administrator, is an advantage.
- Experience using AI tools in HR workflows, such as sourcing support, talent analytics, or administrative automation, is a plus.
- Professional HR certifications like SHRM-CP or PHR are valued.
- Knowledge of government contracting compliance practices, including DCAA/FAR workforce requirements, is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are desired.
