Overview
Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to join a reputable civil engineering contractor in Sittingbourne, Kent. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary between £42,000 and £47,000 annually. The position focuses on supporting health and safety efforts across various civil engineering and infrastructure projects, aiming to enhance safety standards and foster a proactive safety culture on site.
Key Duties
- Assist in developing and implementing health and safety management systems tailored to civil engineering works.
- Encourage and maintain a proactive safety mindset among site teams and project delivery personnel.
- Ensure all operations comply with current Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations as well as internal company protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits at active project sites to monitor safety compliance.
- Identify, log, and manage non-conformances through to their effective resolution.
- Contribute to thorough investigations of incidents, including performing root cause analyses and facilitating lessons learned.
- Support the adoption of novel processes, technologies, and safe working practices to continually improve workplace safety.
- Coordinate with site staff, engineers, and management to uphold high safety performance standards.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience with health and safety management frameworks, with preference for ISO 45001 knowledge.
- Possession of a NEBOSH qualification or an equivalent certification in health and safety.
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card to access construction sites.
- Driving licence to facilitate travel between sites as required.
