Head of Supply Chain & Operations

Position Overview

Our partner company is seeking a Head of Supply Chain & Operations based in Ireland to lead the evolution of a direct-to-consumer enterprise. This senior role involves crafting a scalable, efficient, and dependable supply chain infrastructure that supports global business growth through strategic ownership of forecasting, procurement, logistics, and supplier management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire supply chain spectrum including demand forecasting, inventory planning, procurement, logistics, and operational outcomes.
• Create and deploy scalable supply chain frameworks that enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and trustworthiness during business expansion.
• Maintain and nurture relationships with suppliers and manufacturers globally, ensuring top-quality standards, collaboration, and operational excellence.
• Supervise freight forwarding, customs clearance, import activities, and international logistics coordination.
• Manage and fine-tune third-party logistics partnerships to boost delivery quality, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct negotiations on supplier contracts, payment structures, and operational partnerships to optimize expenditure and fortify business relations.
• Administer ERP systems and develop precise reporting mechanisms for inventory, procurement, and supply chain performance data.
• Establish operational frameworks that facilitate scalability while minimizing daily executive involvement.

Candidate Requirements

• Extensive experience managing supply chain operations at scale, preferably within direct-to-consumer, eCommerce, consumer goods, or fast-growth contexts.
• Proficient knowledge of international logistics, procurement procedures, inventory control, and supplier negotiation strategies.
• Solid background in working with global manufacturing partners, particularly those based in China.
• Practical expertise in managing 3PL providers, ERP platforms, forecasting systems, and operational data reporting.
• Track record of building robust processes, systems, and teams aligned with scaling business demands.
• Demonstrated leadership capacity with autonomous management of complex operational challenges and solution delivery.
• Fluent English communication skills; German language skills are advantageous.
• Data-centric approach with strong analytical abilities and sound decision-making under pressure.
