Head of Procurement

Overview

The Head of Procurement at Al Majed Oud.co is tasked with overseeing both domestic and global purchasing activities. This role ensures the organization obtains goods, materials, and services promptly while optimizing cost-efficiency and upholding superior quality standards. A focus is placed on formulating procurement strategies, enhancing supplier performance, managing risk, and supporting the company’s operational and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement plans aligned with overall business goals.
• Lead procurement operations across local and international markets from sourcing to delivery.
• Identify and cultivate strategic supplier partnerships globally and locally.
• Negotiate pricing, contractual terms, and payment agreements to maximize total value.
• Maintain enduring supplier relationships and ensure compliance with agreements.
• Track procurement metrics using KPIs and report findings to senior leadership.
• Adhere to corporate procurement policies and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate with departments including Planning, Operations, Sales, Warehousing, and Finance to guarantee product availability.
• Manage supply risks by developing alternative sourcing options and contingency plans.
• Stay informed on market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain news to guide purchase decisions.
• Lead and develop the procurement team to boost efficiency and excellence.
• Drive ongoing cost reduction initiatives while preserving quality and service standards.
• Coordinate logistics related to import, shipping, customs clearance, and international transport.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Preferred certifications include CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, or PMP.
• 6 to 8 years of advancing procurement experience, with 3 to 5 years in senior management roles.
• Demonstrated success in local and international procurement environments.
• Industry experience required in fragrance & perfume, FMCG food & beverage, retail, or pharmaceuticals.
• Proven expertise in international sourcing, import processes, supplier negotiation, and contract administration.
• Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Odoo.
