Head of Operations

About the Role

This senior leadership role involves steering and expanding the operational framework of a global, fully remote financial services company headquartered in the United States. The Head of Operations will manage essential functions ensuring efficiency, resilience, compliance, and outstanding service delivery, while overseeing teams in payments, reconciliations, business operations, and digital asset settlements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a strategic operations plan aligned with overall business aims focusing on scalability, operational efficiency, service quality, and compliance.
• Lead core operational areas including payments processing, treasury management, reconciliations, card operations, back-office workflows, and business operations.
• Manage operational metrics, maintain control mechanisms, and initiate performance improvement projects to uphold high standards.
• Promote process optimization and operational transformation through structured methodologies leveraging technology, data analytics, and AI solutions.
• Develop standardized procedures to enhance consistency, efficiency, and transparency in operational activities.
• Build and nurture a high-performing operations team emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and ongoing enhancement.
• Work closely with compliance, risk management, and financial crime units to ensure operations comply with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Establish frameworks for operational risk management, including monitoring systems, reporting protocols, controls, and audit preparedness.
• Collaborate with leaders across technology, data, HR, and client-facing departments to align business goals with operations.
• Supervise comprehensive digital asset settlement processes including reconciliation, wallet and custody management, and the interface between crypto and fiat operations.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience within operations in regulated banking, fintech, financial services, or wealth management sectors.
• Proven ability to manage and grow diverse operational functions covering payments, treasury, settlements, and administrative operations.
• Expertise in process enhancement, operational automation, and scalable workflow development.
• Sound knowledge of financial regulations, compliance standards, anti-money laundering (AML), and financial crime preventive measures.
• Experienced team leader skilled at creating and guiding high-efficiency operational teams.
• Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strategic thinker capable of converting business objectives into practical operational initiatives.
• Experience with cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, or digital asset operation is a significant advantage.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote, global environment with robust collaboration skills.
• Must have access to a dedicated workspace and dependable high-speed internet connectivity.
