Overview

An established FinTech organisation is looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead its engineering division and oversee the creation of scalable, cloud-native technology solutions. Reporting directly to the Group CTO, this senior leadership position involves setting engineering strategies, building talented teams, and delivering secure, resilient, and cutting-edge digital products.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the engineering strategy and manage the complete lifecycle delivery of scalable digital platforms.
• Ensure architectural quality, security, and optimal operational performance across platforms.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Data teams to convert business objectives into detailed technology roadmaps.
• Promote and embed modern engineering methodologies such as cloud-native design, DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), and automation.
• Recruit, develop, and nurture high-performing engineering teams, fostering innovation, teamwork, and continuous progression.
• Establish and maintain engineering best practices that ensure platform reliability and scalability.
• Provide strategic technology guidance and leadership to senior-level stakeholders throughout the organisation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 15 years of experience in software engineering, with substantial leadership roles involving building and scaling engineering teams.
• Significant background in FinTech, SaaS, or other technology-driven companies.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and modern software engineering techniques.
• Demonstrable success in delivering complex digital platform projects.
• Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align engineering initiatives with business goals.
