Hairstylist

Job Overview

This role is based at a physical salon location and requires working on site. Remote work options are not available. The position involves performing a variety of hairstyling and barbering services in a professional salon or barbershop setting.

Languages and Education

• Applicants should possess a certificate or diploma in an allied trade or have equivalent relevant experience.

Experience

Previous experience in hairstyling is considered an advantage but not mandatory.

The position is located in a barbershop or hairstyling studio.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage client appointments efficiently.
• Cut, trim, and style hair following client instructions and preferences.
• Wash and shampoo clients' hair professionally.
• Trim and shape beards and mustaches.
• Provide scalp conditioning massages and various hair treatments such as waving, straightening, and tinting.
• Apply bleaching agents, tints, dyes, or rinses to achieve desired hair coloration effects including frosting and streaking.
• Cut, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair to meet client expectations.
• Advise clients on hairstyles that complement their physical features and personal tastes.
• Perform receptionist duties as required, including greeting clients and managing the reception area.

Credentials and Specializations

• Valid Hairstylist Licence is mandatory.
• Expertise in blow drying techniques, iron waving and curling, perm treatments, and roller setting.
• Proficient in hair coloring methods such as bleaching, dyeing/tinting, frosting, and streaking/highlights.
