Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned and commercially savvy Group Financial Controller to join our Group Finance team. Reporting directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer, this role will spearhead financial reporting, control, and governance across multiple countries while working closely with finance leaders across the region.
Key Duties
- Lead the timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing procedures ensuring accuracy.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements following IFRS and internal group standards.
- Implement and maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies, and governance frameworks.
- Manage statutory financial reporting and ensure compliance in various jurisdictions.
- Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues to finance teams.
- Oversee treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relations.
- Drive working capital and cash conversion improvement efforts.
- Manage the transfer pricing policies and collaborate with external tax consultants on cross-border tax matters.
- Ensure stringent adherence to local and international tax laws.
- Coordinate annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Offer insightful financial analysis and recommendations to the CFO and leadership team.
- Collaborate with business units to enhance financial results and operational efficiency.
- Support strategic decisions with solid financial modeling and analysis.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Group Finance team and guide finance teams throughout the region.
- Encourage cooperation, knowledge sharing, and ongoing skill development.
- Foster a culture centered on accountability, enhancement, and operational excellence.
- Support mergers and acquisitions including diligence, purchase accounting, and integration follow-up.
- Champion finance transformation through process improvements, automation, and system upgrades.
- Standardize finance operations and reporting to boost efficiency and uniformity.
- Manage relationships during the annual audit process and with regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Enhance financial risk management and internal control systems.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Essential professional accounting certification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent.
- Preferred experience with Big Four audit or advisory firms.
- Minimum 15 years progressive finance experience, including senior roles in financial controller or group finance leadership.
- Proven capability handling multi-country financial reporting and consolidation.
- Strong expertise in IFRS and financial reporting regulations.
- Experience managing treasury, taxation, and financial controls in an international setup.
- Background in mergers and acquisitions including financial due diligence and integration.
- Strong leadership background managing dispersed finance teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience in professional services, consulting, or private equity-backed organizations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with high-growth, acquisition-driven environments is a benefit.
- Knowledge of ERP and financial consolidation software is desirable.
- Fluent English communication skills; additional Asian languages are a plus.
