Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Grants & Funding Manager to design and execute strategies for acquiring grants, managing funding partnerships, and overseeing the entire grant lifecycle. This role involves assessing funding opportunities, developing proposals, engaging donors, ensuring compliance, supervising financial aspects, and collaborating across teams to guarantee successful results and responsible management of awarded funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and apply strategies for acquiring grants and engaging donors aligned with the organization's goals and expansion plans.
- Identify and analyze funding prospects from governmental bodies, international organizations, foundations, corporate partners, development entities, and philanthropic sources.
- Manage the complete grant process, including evaluation of opportunities, proposal preparation, budgeting, submission, negotiation, implementation, reporting, and finalization.
- Work closely with teams in Program Management, Finance, Research, Sustainability, Legal, Compliance, Communications, Business Development, and Leadership to craft competitive proposals.
- Oversee grant writing activities encompassing technical narratives, budgets, logical frameworks, monitoring and evaluation plans, risk assessments, and all pertinent documents.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with donors, funding agencies, philanthropic organizations, governments, and strategic allies.
- Monitor grant execution to ensure adherence to donor requirements, deadlines, financial controls, contractual terms, and organizational policies.
- Track grant pipelines, renewal options, performance metrics, donor communications, and partnership actions to optimize funding sustainability.
- Analyze KPIs such as grant success rates, funds secured, proposal turnaround times, donor retention, compliance accuracy, reporting precision, budget utilization, project outcomes, and pipeline value.
- Conduct research on funding landscapes, benchmark donors, evaluate programs, and initiate continuous improvements.
- Ensure compliance with UAE laws, donor guidelines, financial accountability principles, procurement rules, audit standards, and governance frameworks.
- Manage grant budgets, administration systems, consultants, proposal resources, research tools, and fundraising strategies.
- Lead digital transformation efforts using grant management platforms, AI-powered funding discovery, proposal automation, CRM systems, workflow automation, predictive analytics, and business intelligence tools.
- Utilize software like Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Blackbaud Grantmaking, Foundant, Fluxx, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Tableau, and other relevant tools for performance tracking and reporting.
- Prepare executive-level dashboards, funding reports, donor engagement studies, compliance documentation, financial summaries, impact assessments, and recommendations for senior management.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams including grant writers, funding specialists, partnership managers, and program coordinators, fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and ongoing enhancement.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Finance, International Development, Communications, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degrees such as an MBA, MPA, or Master's in International Development or Nonprofit Leadership are highly desirable.
- Certifications in Grant Management, Project Management (PMP), Fundraising, CGMS, CFRE, or similar qualifications are preferred.
- At least five years’ experience in grants management, fundraising, donor relations, proposal development, nonprofit management, or business development roles.
- Minimum two years’ experience managing grant portfolios, donor-funded programs, funding partnerships, or large-scale fundraising efforts is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of grant lifecycle, proposal drafting, donor compliance, budgeting, financial reporting, contract oversight, monitoring and evaluation, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience with platforms such as Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Blackbaud Grantmaking, Foundant, Fluxx, Power BI, Tableau, CRM systems, grant management software, and collaboration tools.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies including AI-enabled grant searches, proposal automation, donor analytics, fundraising automation, digital collaboration, and advanced reporting tools is a plus.
- Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication, grant writing expertise, stakeholder engagement skills, analytical thinking, financial planning, organizational aptitude, project management, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to efficiently juggle multiple funding projects while meeting donor expectations, regulatory requirements, budgets, and reporting deadlines.
- Proven capability to collaborate productively in a remote working environment with diverse stakeholders including funding agencies, nonprofit partners, governmental bodies, consultants, and international teams.
