Role overview
Isabel Mayfair is a celebrated Mayfair dining and late-night hospitality venue known for its Latin and Mediterranean-inspired menu, polished atmosphere, and exclusive Dragon Room experience. Established in 2017 and part of the BNF Hospitality group, the business is focused on delivering outstanding guest experiences alongside strong commercial results and well-run operations.
This opportunity is for an accomplished General Manager to take overall ownership of the venue. The role is based in Mayfair, London (W1) and is a full-time, permanent, on-site position. The compensation is competitive and includes a performance bonus.
You will lead a premium restaurant operation as well as a lively late-night bar environment, ensuring consistently high standards across every part of the guest journey. The position calls for a visible, practical leader who can set the tone for the team, maintain accountability, and balance service excellence with commercial performance.
Key responsibilities
- Protect and strengthen the venue’s standing as one of Mayfair’s leading hospitality destinations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with VIP guests and important stakeholders.
- Address guest comments and concerns in a professional, effective manner.
- Keep service quality at a very high level across both the restaurant and bar.
- Make sure operating procedures, service standards, and company policies are applied consistently.
- Track service delivery closely and look for practical ways to improve it.
- Run management briefings and operational meetings.
- Lead, encourage, and develop a sizeable front-of-house and back-of-house team.
- Build a positive, high-performance culture centred on excellent hospitality.
- Coach departmental managers and supervisors to improve capability and performance.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning.
- Deliver agreed targets for revenue, profitability, and key performance indicators.
- Control labour spend, stock usage, and other operating costs.
- Work with head office teams to improve commercial outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue while enhancing the guest experience.
- Ensure full compliance with licensing, health and safety, food safety, and employment laws.
- Maintain strong standards of cleanliness, presentation, and day-to-day discipline.
- Lead audits and make sure corrective actions are followed through when needed.
Experience and profile
The ideal candidate will bring substantial General Manager experience from premium hospitality settings and a strong understanding of high-end markets such as Mayfair or Central London. You should be equally confident managing restaurant service and late-night bar operations, and have a background working with VIP and high-profile guests in busy, visible venues.
This role suits a highly organised leader who performs well in a fast-moving environment, is comfortable working evenings and weekends as the business requires, and has proven ability to manage senior managers and department heads. Experience handling P&L performance, budgets, and labour costs is important.
