Role Overview
The General Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive leadership of business operations encompassing the furniture manufacturing facility and the interior fit-out division. This leadership role entails overseeing project delivery, factory operations, business growth, financial health, client management, and team guidance, ensuring projects meet time, budget, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct overall operations of both companies aligned with strategic goals.
- Formulate and execute business strategies to achieve financial growth, revenue, and profitability targets.
- Discover new market opportunities, trends, and strategic collaborations.
- Support long-term business expansion and planning efforts.
- Manage end-to-end furniture manufacturing and interior fit-out project execution.
- Guarantee projects adhere to schedules, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate activities across design, estimation, procurement, production, sites, and project management teams.
- Analyze project profitability and optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
- Oversee production processes including joinery, upholstery, finishing, and installations.
- Enhance factory productivity and streamline manufacturing workflows.
- Implement quality control protocols throughout production phases.
- Manage inventory, material usage, and production timelines.
- Supervise budgeting, costing, financial performance, and cash flow management.
- Evaluate procurement expenses and financial reporting to maintain cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, consultants, architects, and developers.
- Engage in critical client negotiations, contract discussions, and tendering processes.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction to drive repeat business opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate leadership in department heads, project managers, factory managers, engineers, and supervisors.
- Promote a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular operational and project review meetings.
- Support talent advancement and succession initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Dubai authorities such as Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, and Civil Defense.
- Adhere to occupational health, safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Drive ongoing process improvements and operational excellence.
- Prepare detailed monthly management reports covering projects, finance, factory operations, pipeline development, KPIs, and resource management.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
- MBA qualification is a plus.
- At least 10 to 15 years of experience within the UAE in furniture manufacturing and interior fit-out sectors.
- Demonstrated capability managing both factory operations and project implementation.
- In-depth knowledge of bespoke furniture production, joinery, and interior fit-out methodologies.
- Experience handling luxury residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, and institutional sector projects.
- Strong financial expertise, including budgeting and P&L oversight.
- Comprehensive understanding of UAE regulatory approvals and construction standards.
- Outstanding leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Possession of a valid UAE driving license.
