Position Overview
The General Laborer will support Lead Technicians and specialized technicians by carrying out physical duties such as tool operation, material handling, measuring, cutting, and site maintenance. This position demands minimal technical skills but requires a strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and good organizational abilities. Additional duties may be assigned as per management discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Lead and other skilled Technicians as needed in various tasks.
- Carry out heavy physical work including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
- Operate machinery and tools associated with specific job assignments.
- Clean fan coil units and help with insulation installation.
- Set up and dismantle equipment and materials at job locations.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety across the work site.
- Load and unload materials from transport pods and help organize setups.
- Accurately measure, cut, or shape materials like wood and plastic.
- Engage in extensive travel, covering approximately 80% of time across various U.S locations for short and long-term assignments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Physical capability to perform labor-intensive and demanding tasks.
- Ability to work under diverse weather conditions with consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Proficient in taking precise measurements of HVAC components for documentation.
- Strong team player willing to take on extra responsibilities.
- Detail-oriented approach to work.
- Basic computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in maintenance, general labor, or construction preferred but not mandatory.
Physical Demands
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds; capabilities include carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Potential exposure to dust and loud noise; protective equipment is provided.
- Must be willing and able to travel extensively across the U.S., including occasional holiday work.
