General Insurance Underwriter

Overview

A well-established insurance organization in Qatar is hiring an experienced General Insurance Underwriter. The role calls for someone with a solid grasp of general insurance products, underwriting standards, risk evaluation, and policy paperwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft quotations, policy documents, endorsements, and renewal documents.
• Examine and evaluate proposals across general insurance lines.
• Assess exposure, set suitable terms and conditions, and calculate premiums.
• Make sure underwriting outcomes align with internal procedures and regulatory rules.
• Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather the information needed for processing.
• Assist the claims, finance, and operations teams whenever support is required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in general insurance underwriting.
• Background in property, engineering, marine, liability, or related general insurance lines is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of insurance market practices in Qatar.
• Well-developed analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Comfortable working with MS Office and insurance software/systems.
• Must hold a valid Qatar ID and a transferable visa/NOC.
• Should already be in Qatar and available for interview and joining.
