Freelance Consultant - Total Rewards

About the Role

A prominent manufacturer specializing in ophthalmic equipment, microsurgical instruments, and pharmaceuticals is seeking a consultant to provide hybrid support focusing primarily on Total Rewards (75%) and additionally on Talent Acquisition (25%). Reporting directly to the CHRO, this role entails hands-on management of all Total Rewards functions and aiding leadership recruitment efforts. Given the sensitive nature of the responsibilities, maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating high integrity with relevant experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage compensation processes including payroll, mobility, statutory remittances, benchmarking, and conducting surveys.
• Oversee administration of employee benefits programs.
• Handle HR Management System (HRMS) operations.
• Coordinate performance and rewards cycles.
• Conduct HR analytics and prepare reports.
• Manage relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Enhance employee communication and overall experience.
• Supervise talent acquisition activities, reporting, and labor cost management.

Work Schedule and Location

• Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, working from 9 AM to 6 PM.
• Work mode is hybrid based in Chennai.
• Working days are Monday through Friday.
• Travel is required occasionally to manufacturing plants and sales branch offices across India.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in industries such as manufacturing, medical devices, or consumer products preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in Talent Management or Human Resources with expertise in succession planning.
• Proficiency in HRMS platforms and tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is required; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Strong abilities in analytics, managing stakeholders, and facilitation.
• Familiarity with HR systems, data analytics, and project management methodologies.
