Financial Analyst

Role Overview

The Financial Analyst 2 position reports directly to the Controller of the Department of Medicine at UCSF Health, requiring a commitment to on-site presence one day each week. This role is pivotal in conducting financial analyses to aid critical decision-making processes. The incumbent must work autonomously with precision, managing competing priorities effectively, often within project-based assignments. Responsibilities include synthesizing data from multiple sources and delivering clear, concise reports. Problem-solving and issue identification are expected through applied knowledge and training.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial decision-making through thorough analysis and accurate execution of assigned tasks.
• Consolidate and analyze information from various sources to prepare comprehensive financial reports.
• Apply financial knowledge to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Manage tasks independently while balancing changing priorities and high workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field plus at least one year of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to clearly present information.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet and database tools for moderately complex financial analyses and reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, able to multitask efficiently within a high-volume environment.
• Working knowledge of finance policies, procedures, and systems.
• Ability to collate and analyze retrievable financial information to complete assigned tasks.
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and teamwork collaboration skills.

Preferred: Intermediate understanding of internal controls and their role in safeguarding institutional resources.
