Financial Analyst

Job Overview

Chewy is looking for a driven and analytical Financial Analyst to join our expanding Healthcare Finance team. The role involves leveraging financial knowledge and data analytics to support strategic decisions that fuel Chewy Healthcare's advancement and ensure alignment with financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop financial models and conduct detailed analytics on complex data sets to generate actionable business insights, reports, and recommendations for leadership.
• Support the creation and refinement of reporting and financial performance measurement systems, setting key metrics to monitor overall business health.
• Collaborate across teams including Finance, Healthcare Business Development, Product, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Accounting for a comprehensive understanding of business operations and customer base.
• Engage actively in setting targets and the quarterly and annual planning cycles.
• Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate maintenance of records following Chewy’s policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for ongoing process enhancements focusing on Merchandising, Operations, Supply Chain, Accounting, and Finance areas.
• Adapt well in a fast-moving work environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, or Economics.
• Between zero and two years of related finance experience with fundamental knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced skills in Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and AI tools) and PowerPoint presentations.
• Mandatory experience with SQL programming; familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, or Claude, and experience with Hyperion Smartview, Tableau, or Oracle ERP are advantageous.
• Ability to think innovatively and independently while also contributing to team efforts under time and resource constraints.
• Flexibility to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
