ജോലി വിവരണം
About the business
Clayton Hops is based in Nelson and works across growing, processing, and exporting specialist hops, along with its own Amplifire hop products, to brewers in international markets. The company has proprietary hop varieties and differentiated products that are unique to its business, and demand is increasing across Europe, North America, and the Asia Pacific region. As the organisation expands its product range and operations, it is also building the team and systems needed to support that growth. Its four farms supply raw material for production, packaging, cool storage, and export operations in the Tasman region.
The opportunity
This is the most senior finance position in the company, reporting directly to the CEO. Because the business systems are still being integrated and some processes must be created as the company evolves, the role is very hands-on and detail-oriented. It involves global inventory, invoicing, reconciliations, and reporting, with a strong focus on execution.
Why the role stands out
- You will work across trade and reporting involving multiple currencies and three tax regimes: New Zealand, the United States, and Australia.
- The role includes offshore inventory, consolidated reporting across two entities, and pass-through activity to the farms.
- You will have direct access to the CEO and Board, who expect timely, practical commercial advice backed by clear visibility.
- You will also lead the systems and automation agenda, helping connect how the business operates and introducing better tools and AI into everyday work.
Key ownership areas
You will take responsibility for management accounts and board reporting, budgets and forecasts, cash flow and funding, tax and compliance across jurisdictions, and the integration of Shopify, Xero, and Salesforce to reduce manual work. You will also manage the Assistant Accountant and contribute to improving the finance function as the business continues to scale.
What the company is looking for
- A CA or CPA with senior finance experience spanning multiple countries and currencies.
- Background in export, FMCG, agribusiness, or manufacturing would be highly relevant.
- A commercially minded decision-maker who can interpret a P&L, act on it, and take ownership of the outcome.
- Someone who enjoys building better systems and sees projects through to completion.
- Strong interest in automation and technology across both business operations and logistics, not only finance.
